Yurii Prodan meets with IMF mission to Ukraine

Today, March 5, Minister of
Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yurii Prodan met with
members of IMF mission to Ukraine. The event was held in the
framework of a visit by the IMF mission to Ukraine headed by
Nikolay Gueorguiev.
During the meeting were also present
representatives of the National Bank of Ukraine and the
Naftogaz of Ukraine.
The event took place at the request of Ukraine’s authorities and aimed at gathering factual information, that is to be used to assess the current situation and discuss the economic reforming, which could become the basis for the programs supported by the IMF.
The parties considered issues of financial state of the Naftogaz of Ukraine, predictive amounts of natural gas procurement in 2014, planned increase of tariffs for gas and heating.
The Ukrainian side informed there had been prepared several tariff forming projects, including those depending on the price for gas imported by Ukraine.
On the outcomes of the meeting the parties agreed to hold another round of talks in the nearest time to discuss concrete steps to receive the loans.
