U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William J. Burns met June 24 in Washington with Republic of Korea First Vice Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yong as part of the U.S.-ROK Strategic Dialogue. They had productive discussions on a broad range of bilateral, regional, and global issues, reflecting the strength and breadth of our alliance with the Republic of Korea. They also exchanged views on recent developments in North Korea. Deputy Secretary Burns reaffirmed the United States’ strong security commitment to the Republic of Korea and emphasized that we will continue to coordinate closely in our efforts toward the denuclearization of North Korea.
