Jokowi gives mandate to Bappenas to intervene in evalution the contract of Freeport

Merdeka.com - The Ministry of National Development Planning (PPN) / (Bappenas) included in the evaluation team of natural resources in Papua (West Papua Province and the province of Papua). The team was formed at the instruction of the President Joko Widodo.
The team consists of Bappenas, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Ministry of Enterprise, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Ministry of Agrarian / Head of BPN, the Head of BKPM, the Attorney General, Deputy FirstMonitoring and Evaluation of Presidential Staff Office, the Governor of Papua and West Papua Governor.
Minister of Planning / Head of Bappenas Andrinof Chaniago appointed to be the leader of the team. One of its tasks, evaluate mining contracts belonging to PT Freeport Indonesia. Andrinof Chaniago targeted, contract evaluation Freeport again to be completed later this year.
"Our job is targeted to December but every month we have to report to the President," he said in his office, Jakarta, yesterday.
Andrinof describes one of the team task he leads, to examine the source of the Freeport mine that will become a reference in formulating Jokowi permits for mining.
"This team will identify potential as well as opportunities use of natural resources and the results of the study will recommend to the president," he said.
This study also opens up the possibility of local companies and state enterprises to cooperate with the Freeport gold mine in managing this world’s larget mine.
"That's all
(study results) will be input for the President in
determining how the future, he said.
Not only is the Freeport mine, Andrinof also said that the team is reviewing all natural resources. Good potential for natural gas, plantations, until the water resources. He did not deny, this time the people of Papua is not much enjoy his produce himself.
"Hence, if the results of the study could recommend further processed in Papua, it would be better for the people of Papua," he cocluded.
