Motorists travelling along the Kings Road will experience an improved driving experience as soon as Fulton Hogan Hiways completes rehabilitation of the Verata stretch of the highway.
The four kilometre section of road has not been repaired for a number of years, according to FHH Operation Manager, Phil Tombs, and some 6,000 vehicles travel this road every day.
“The road has been affected by years and years of flooding and overloaded vehicles. Both have caused the deterioration of the road, making it impossible for motorists to avoid the numerous potholes,” said Mr Tombs.
The seven-men FHH crew has completed stabilising and sealing the first 500 metres of the road, with the remaining section still undergoing rehabilitation.
Fulton Hogan Hiways, working closely with the Fiji Road Authority, continues to provide road maintenance for the Central and Northern Divisions, the work on Verata is another example of this ongoing commitment.
