Rewa Street Important to Maintain
Extensive rehabilitation work is now underway on Rewa and Bau Streets, McGregor Road, and the Brown Street and Flagstaff roundabouts, according to FHH Surfacing Manager, Greg Clark.
First to receive the upgrade is Rewa Street where sections have deteriorated causing extensive pothole damage.
“Because of the high level of traffic as one of the main routes in and out of Suva, maintaining Rewa Street is important.”
The FHH crews have completed milling and paving the first 100 metres on Rewa, with the remaining section still undergoing rehabilitation. Work will be ongoing on the other routes scheduled for upgrade.
Mr. Clark has urged motorist to drive with care and especially follow the speed limit. “I am sadly surprised on how fast motorists speed by our worksites endangering both themselves and the crew.”
Fulton Hogan Hiways is working closely with FRA in continuing to provide road maintenance for the Central and Northern Divisions.
