For Immediate Release - 2/20/17
Statement from Chairman Archambault II

"Today, I spoke with the Governor about the campsite.

I continue to ask that there be no forcible removal of remaining campers. Peace and Safety is the priority.

The state has notified us that law enforcement will be entering the area this Wednesday and will peacefully ask those to vacate. The remaining campers will have until 2pm to gather their belongings.

We ask that everyone keep public safety their
top priority at this time.

We also want to thank those involved in the cleanup of the campsite. We are planning to continue the cleanup after Wednesday."

SRST Update: 2/22/17

The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is closely monitoring law enforcement activity at the camp. No matter what happens, we encourage everyone to remain peaceful and reiterate that our utmost concern at this time is the safety and wellbeing of all parties.
