SETF Calls for Military Response to Syrian Chemical Weapon Attack

Washington, DC - The Syrian Emergency Task Force calls for immediate military action against the Assad regime in response to the latest report of a chemical weapons attack in Douma in the eastern Ghouta region in Damascus.

Initial reports including verified videos from the ground from the Syrian White Helmets indicate signs of the use of a nerve agent. These signs include immediate death for large numbers of people present, dilated pupils, and a foaming at the mouth. At least 40 people have been killed including women and children making it the largest chemical weapons attack since the attack last year in Khan Sheikhoun.

Exactly a year ago President Trump made it clear to the Assad regime that there would be consequences for his actions. While the Administration did the right thing then it must do the right thing again. We urge President Trump to make it clear to the Assad regime that these heinous actions will not be tolerated and act immediately to ground Assad’s Air Force.
