ITUC Condemns Killings of Palestinian Civilians
Brussels, 15 May 2018 (ITUC OnLine): The ITUC has
condemned the killing of dozens of Palestinians by Israeli
troops in Gaza in demonstrations at the border with Israel.
More than two thousand are believed to have been
injured.
“We fully support the call by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein for the killings to stop. It is only when dialogue replaces violence that a just, two-state solution can be achieved. Unfortunately, the provocative and unjustified move of the US Administration to locate their embassy in Jerusalem has made constructive dialogue all the more difficult to achieve,” said ITUC General Secretary Sharan Burrow.
The ITUC represents 207 million members of 331 affiliates in 163 countries and territories.
