A Message From Gaza To The Free People Of The World
Opinion piece by a Gaza orthopaedic surgeon
To those whose consciences are still alive, to those whose hearts still beat with humanity and dignity:
Here in Gaza, we are living through a genocide in all its forms. Hunger is intensifying, food and flour are nearly gone, and even drinking water is becoming scarce. The cruelty escalates day by day, yet we remain steadfast and unyielding.
Our children suffer from hunger and dehydration. Some die in silence—without medicine, without food, without the world hearing their cries.
We continue working in hospitals despite the limited capabilities and the scarcity of resources, because we know that serving our people is the only path to life amidst this collective death.
We are like palm trees—our heads do not bow, and our roots cannot be uprooted. Our branches reach the sky, and our roots are firm in the ground.
We write to you today not to beg for pity, but to say: we still have hope.
We dream of life, freedom, and dignity.
We call on all free people of the world: do not be silent. Do not leave Gaza alone. Be the voice of those silenced beneath the rubble. Save those who remain, and shout with us against injustice.
In my name, and in the name of all those resisting life with scarce water, rare food, and unshakable will, we say to you:
Gaza does not break. Gaza is calling you.
