The No. Of Martyred Journalists Rises To 244 After The Killing Of Four Journalists In The Targeting Of Nasser Hospital
The number of martyred journalists rises to 244 after the announcement of the killing of four journalists in the targeting of Nasser Hospital
The number of journalists martyred since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip has risen to 244 following the announcement of the martyrdom of the following colleagues:
Martyr journalist / Hussam Al-Masri
Worked as a photojournalist with Reuters News Agency
Martyr journalist / Mohammed Salama
Worked as a photojournalist with Al Jazeera Channel
Martyr journalist / Mariam Abu Daqa
Worked as a journalist with several media outlets, including Independent Arabia and AP
Martyr journalist / Moaz Abu Taha
Worked as a journalist with NBC News
The journalist colleagues were killed when the Israeli occupation committed a horrific crime by bombing a group of journalists who were on a reporting mission at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis (southern Gaza Strip). Many other martyrs also fell victim to this crime.
The Government Media Office strongly condemns the systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli occupation. We call on the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists Union, and all journalist bodies in every country worldwide to denounce these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media workers in the Gaza Strip.
We hold the Israeli occupation, the U.S. administration, and the states participating in the genocide — such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France — fully responsible for committing these heinous and brutal crimes.
We call on the international community, international organizations, and all bodies concerned with journalism and media work worldwide to condemn the crimes of the occupation, to deter and prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and to bring the perpetrators to justice. We further call on them to exert serious and effective pressure to stop the genocide, protect journalists and media workers in the Gaza Strip, and put an end to their killing and assassination.
We ask Allah Almighty to grant mercy, acceptance, and Paradise to all our martyred journalist colleagues, and to grant patience and solace to their families and the Palestinian press community. We also wish a speedy recovery to all wounded journalists.
