Brazilian Governors Announced Strategic Initiatives During The Opening Of The Amazon Hub At COP30
The governors of the nine states of the Brazilian Amazon participated on November 10, 2025 in the official opening of the Brazilian Amazon Consortium (CAL) spaces in the Blue Zone at COP30. The Hub will serve as the main meeting point for Amazonian states during the conference, bringing together political leaders, international institutions, civil society, and the scientific community in a program featuring over 60 panels and bilateral meetings.
During the opening, the governors presented the main initiatives of the Consortium to be showcased at COP30, including: the Amazon 2050 Strategy, which sets out a long-term vision for the region’s sustainable development; the CAL2050 Platform, a digital tool that integrates geospatial data and socio-environmental indicators from the nine states; the Amazon Ecological Transformation Plan, aligned with the federal agenda on bioeconomy and green infrastructure; the Regional Land Tenure Regularization Project, developed in partnership with IPAM; and the Legal Amazon Environmental Crimes Assessment, aimed at integrating security policies and actions to combat environmental offenses. Other initiatives focus on culture, education, and regional communication, reinforcing the leadership of the states at the conference.
Since its debut at the COPs in Madrid, the Consortium has established itself as a strategic actor in the global climate agenda, promoting integrated action among the states on issues such as sustainable development, ecological transition, and conservation, while strengthening the Amazon’s dialogue with the international community.
The Amazon Hub reaffirms the commitment of the Amazonian states to present concrete and collaborative solutions, balancing environmental conservation, economic development, and social justice.
