At COP30, Amazon Governors Presented Strategy And Platform For The Region’s Sustainable Development
The governors of the nine states of Brazil’s Amazon presented, on November 11, 2025, at the Amazon Hub – Blue Zone of COP30, the Amazon 2050 Strategy and the CAL2050 Platform. These initiatives consolidate the states’ joint vision to guide the sustainable development of the region over the next 25 years, reaffirming the Brazilian Amazon’s commitment to a future of prosperity, social justice, and environmental balance.
The Amazon 2050 Strategy represents a strategic milestone, the result of a collaborative process involving state secretaries, experts, and technical teams, with the support of the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM). The document establishes long-term guidelines and targets to drive the region’s ecological and economic transformation, aligning with the Brazil 2050 Strategy and national commitments toward climate neutrality.
The event also featured the presentation of the CAL2050 Platform, an integrated tool that centralizes geospatial data, dynamic dashboards, and socio-environmental indicators from the nine Amazonian states. The platform connects to official federal and state databases, enabling continuous monitoring and tracking of the region’s contribution to the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
These initiatives reflect the leadership of the Amazonian states in building concrete and integrated solutions to address climate change and strengthen territorial governance in the Amazon.
