Heartache. Heart Pain

By Dr Nasim

How much pain the heart holds… Winter has returned with its blessings and its rain, yet it has also returned to expose the depth of our wounds.

The rain has come, and instead of refreshing the soul, it has flooded the tents and added cold upon cold, suffering upon suffering. Homes that once sheltered us have become rubble. Families that once gathered in warmth now sleep on the ground, covered only by the sky, with nothing but prayers carried to God.

How cruel it is…

Two years of massacres, bombings, and destruction have left people without a roof, without shelter, without safety.

The pain is no longer just the pain of loss — it is the pain of cold biting into the bones, of clothes soaked with no others to replace them, of children shivering, and mothers who have nothing left but whispered prayers.

Isn’t it our right to live in a home that protects us from the rain?

Isn’t it a mother’s right to keep her children warm?

Isn’t it a child’s right to sleep without fearing a drop falling on their head?

Are these such impossible dreams?

We only dream of what every simple human being dreams of: peace, safety, warmth… nothing more.

Oh winter…

We used to love you when we played under your rain, then returned to warm homes, changed our wet clothes, and slept in soft beds.

But today… forgive us:

We do not love you, because we have no home to return to.

We do not love you, because our only clothes become soaked and we have nothing to replace them.

We do not love you, because your rain stings our children’s bodies.

We do not love you, because we fall ill from your cold and find no one to heal us.

Ah… how painful it is to live in a world so unjust, a world that fails to provide even the simplest shelter from winter’s cold.

Yet despite all this suffering, we remain steadfast, patient, and certain that victory comes from God.

We have God — and that is enough for us.

He is our Protector, our Guardian, the One who never leaves us nor forsakes us.

Pray for the people of Gaza…

For those in tents, for those in the streets, for those taking refuge under the branches of trees.

Enjoy your warmth — but do not forget us in your prayers.

We ask God for a winter filled with mercy, warmth, and peace upon the people of Gaza, wherever they may be.
