UN Child Rights Committee To Review Maldives, Ghana, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Colombia, Spain And Malaysia
GENEVA (9 January 2026) - The UN Child Rights Committee (CRC) will hold its upcoming session from 12 – 30 January, during which it will review the Maldives, Ghana, Pakistan*, Ethiopia, Colombia, Spain, and Malaysia.
The seven countries are among the 196 States Parties to the Child Rights Convention. They are required to undergo regular reviews by the Committee of 18 independent international experts on how they are implementing the Convention, its Optional Protocols, as well as the Committee's previous recommendations.
The CRC, which has received the respective country reports and other submissions from non-governmental organisations, will discuss a range of issues with the seven States delegations through public dialogues on the following dates at Geneva time:

* Pakistan will be reviewed regarding their obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child and its Optional Protocol on the Sale of Children, Child Prostitution and Child Pornography.
