Filipinos Stand In Solidarity With Venezuela & Palestine On Global Day Of Action Against U.S. Imperialist Wars & Fascism

Joint Statement of the Philippines-Bolivarian Venezuela Friendship Association and the Philippines-Palestine Friendship Association on February 6 Global Day of Action for Venezuela and Palestine

MANILA – On this February 6 Global Day of Action for Venezuela and Palestine, the Philippines–Palestine Friendship Association (PPFA) and the Philippines–Bolivarian Venezuela Friendship Association (PBVFA) stand in firm solidarity with peoples resisting imperialism across the world and join the global call for coordinated protests, community actions, and education campaigns.

“From Palestine to Venezuela, U.S. imperialism is laying waste to lives, communities, and nations—and Filipinos cannot stand aside, because the same forces threaten our own sovereignty and future,” the two organizations said in a joint statement. “Our history of resistance compels us to speak out, to act, and to refuse silence in the face of U.S. wars of aggression and fascism.”

Israeli forces have once again bombed shelters in Gaza, undermining the fragile ceasefire process and worsening the ongoing humanitarian crisis. These repeated attacks have killed thousands, destroyed over 80% of Gaza’s buildings, left hospitals, schools, and essential infrastructure in ruins– all while continuing under the shield of U.S. imperialist support.

“Donald Trump’s morally bankrupt ‘Board of Peace’ has proven to be more illegitimate after the recent inclusion of wanted war criminal Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Last week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump’s camp unveiled a so-called “master plan” to rebuild Gaza with towers, resorts, data centers, and an airport—designed entirely without consulting Palestinians and completely ignoring their rights and political freedom”, PPFA said.

“Far from aiding Gaza’s people, the plan is a blueprint for displacement, advancing Israel’s occupation at the expense of Palestinian communities. Meanwhile, even as the Rafah crossing has reopened, only a few medical patients can leave while aid and supplies remain blocked, leaving Gaza’s healthcare system on the brink of collapse, families living in fear, and the ongoing blockade and bombardment demanding urgent international action”, PPFA added.

“What’s happening in Venezuela is a full-blown U.S. assault, plain and simple,” PBVFA said. “More than a month after the January 3 invasion and Trump’s abduction of President Nicolás Maduro and Cilia Flores, ordinary people are still suffering—airstrikes killing civilians, roads and power systems smashed, the country’s sovereignty ripped apart, and elected leaders hauled away by force.”

“The U.S. officials and corporate media continue to promote so-called opposition figures like Juan Guaidó and Nobel Peace Prize winner María Corina Machado to justify ‘regime change’ and assert imperialist control while ordinary Venezuelans are being squeezed from all sides because of U.S.-instigated actions. Trump has seized oil money, diverted tankers, banned flights, and tightened a blockade that continues to choke the economy and cut off people’s lifelines”, PBVFA added.

What makes these U.S.-led wars of aggression in Palestine and Venezuela so brutal is how they use airstrikes and high-tech weapons to bomb civilians and destroy homes, hospitals, and schools. “The U.S. and its imperialist allies are directly responsible for the collapse of economies and communities in these countries.”

This same logic of domination and exploitation hits home in the Philippines, where the Marcos Jr. regime has doubled down on subservience to U.S. imperialist dictates, leaving ordinary Filipinos to pay the price.

“The U.S. Embassy in Manila even had the gall to warn citizens to ‘stay alert’ ahead of anti-U.S. protests—shameless and hypocritical, because the real threat is U.S. imperialism itself,” the groups said. “The U.S. Embassy is an outpost of imperialist brutality, a symbol of the violence inflicted on our youth, workers, women, Indigenous peoples, and oppressed sectors who have long suffered the crimes, abuses, and plunder carried out by the U.S.”

“The embassy can issue all the warnings it wants, but it cannot silence our fight for justice—not while billions flow through the lopsided VFA and EDCA into counterinsurgency programs, war exercises terrorize communities, and Marcos Jr. pours over USD 1.05 billion into Israeli weapons while whitewashing U.S.-Israel atrocities in Palestine. The Philippine government should be ashamed of its dirty deals with the U.S. while ordinary Filipinos go hungry, robbed through Marcos Jr.’s corrupt flood-control projects and Duterte’s illicit confidential funds,” the organizations said.

We draw strength from the unyielding courage of oppressed peoples worldwide who refuse to be controlled or silenced. Inspired by our long struggle against foreign domination, we Filipinos stand in firm solidarity with the Venezuelan and Palestinian peoples defending their freedom, self-determination, and sovereignty.

“In the face of U.S. warmongering, escalating arms production, and open acts of aggression, we must remain vigilant, resolute, and militant – seizing these conditions to advance our anti-imperialist struggle for genuine liberation. No one is free until everyone is free”, the organizations ended.#
