North West Choiseul Cyclone Relief Efforts Get A Boost From Turu Value Limited

The North West Choiseul Constituency (NWCC) office's cyclone relief efforts received a boost yesterday (15 April) with a generous donation of goods from Turu Value Limited in Honiara.

The donated goods include 500 cartons of noodles and 10 cartons of mackerel.

Member of Parliament Honourable Harry Kuma, on behalf of his constituents and the NWCC office in Honiara, expressed sincere gratitude for Turu Value Ltd's generous support.

"These supplies will go a long way in helping our affected communities rebuild and recover from this disaster," he said.

"This act of solidarity and compassion is heartening and brings hope to our affected families."

Meanwhile, Constituency Development Officer (CDO) Gabby Taniveke said the support is a boost to the constituency's ongoing relief efforts to help cyclone victims.

"As the scripture reminds us, 'Generous hands are blessed hands because they give bread to the poor,'" he added.

He stated that following the cyclone impact, the constituency office was among the first to respond to urgent calls for help, allocating funds for rice and essential supplies.

"This rapid response was made possible through improved communication coverage and financial inclusion via M-Selen," CDO Taniveke explained.

Mr. Taniveke confirmed that the donated relief goods will be shipped to the constituency this coming weekend along with constituency project supplies aboard LC Zing Xiang.

On behalf of Honourable Kuma, CDO Taniveke expressed compassion for the affected families and urged community leaders and individuals to work together and support one another during this difficult time.

He also acknowledged the support of everyone involved in the relief efforts, ensuring that the needs of hard-hit communities and people are met.

Cyclone Maila caused significant destruction across Western and Choiseul provinces last week, damaging properties, infrastructure, and food gardens.
