All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The
Situation: A broad trough of low pressure covers much of the
Tasman Sea and New Zealand.
And now the forecast to midnight tonight:
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL
PENINSULA, WAIKATO, WAITOMO,
TAUMARANUI, TARANAKI,
TAIHAPE, TAUPO, WANGANUI and MANAWATU:
A mix of cloudy
and fine periods with a few showers in most
places.
North of Hamilton showers are likely to become heavy
and
thundery for a time. West to northwest winds.
BAY of
PLENTY/ROTORUA, GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Cloudy
periods at first with the odd shower but becoming
generally fine
and sunny. Not a great deal of
wind.
WELLINGTON: Cloudy at times with a few showers but
fine periods
also. Northerlies.
NELSON: The odd shower
about the western ranges but elsewhere
mostly fine for
much of the time. Not much breeze.
BULLER, WESTLAND and
FIORDLAND: Showery conditions continuing
with generally
light winds.
MARLBOROUGH: Mainly fine weather. Northwest breezes.
CANTERBURY and OTAGO: Low cloud with fog about
the
Canterbury coast clearing this morning but returning
towards
evening. Most other places should enjoy sunny
conditions.
Northeast winds near the coast, inland just
light breezes.
SOUTHLAND: Fine and cloudy periods with the
odd showers at times.
North to northwest winds.
CHATHAM
ISLANDS: Drizzly rain and low cloud slowly lifting with
a few fine breaks this afternoon. Not much wind.
THE
OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Rain or showers in many areas but in
the far south skies breaking later in the day with fine
periods
increasing. At the Chathams, Mostly cloudy with
further drizzly
rain at times.
