Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight:

From Taranaki to Bay of Plenty northwards, also for the central high country: A few showers about Auckland and Northland otherwise mainly fine.

Wanganui to Wellington: Cloudy with a few showers this morning and strong southerlies about Wellington. Long fine breaks developing later.

In the east from Wairarapa to Gisborne: A few showers today. Fine breaks increasing inland.

For Nelson and the South Island west coast: Fine, clear, frosty conditions.

From Marlborough to Otago, also for Southland: Cloud and showery About the coast this morning. Gradually clearing inland but a few coastal showers continuing in the east, especially north of Banks Peninsula.

Chatham Islands: Rain or showers persisting.
