From Taranaki to Taupo and Bay of Plenty to Northland: Mostly fine and frosty.
Remaining North Island areas: Cold and showery with further snow about the central plateau, including the desert road. Fine periods increasing tomorrow in the west from Taranaki to Manawatu.
For Nelson, Buller and Westland: Fine and very frosty. Cloudy periods developing later tomorrow about the fiords.
Marlborough and Canterbury: Mainly fine inland. Drizzly showers continuing about the coast.
Otago, also for Southland: Mainly fine and frosty. Some cloudy areas about the coast.
Chatham Islands: Rain for much of the time.
