Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight:
From Taranaki to Taupo and Bay of Plenty to Northland: Mostly fine and frosty.
Remaining North Island areas: Cold at first with further showery periods. Snow this morning about the central plateau, including the desert road. Fine periods increasing during the day in the west from Taranaki to Wellington.
For Nelson, also for the South Island west coast: Fine and very frosty but about the fiords cloud increasing this morning with brief rain.
Marlborough and Canterbury: Mainly fine inland. Drizzly showers continuing about the coast until afternoon.
Otago and Southland: Mainly fine and frosty. Some cloudy areas about the coast.
Chatham Islands: Rain for much of the time.
