Weather Workshop: short forecast

Short Forecast valid to midnight tonight:

For the north and west of the North Island from Northland to
Taranaki, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty:
High cloud thickening, patchy rain spreading south during the day.
Rain not reaching Bay of Plenty and Taupo until evening.

Gisborne to Wairarapa: Dry with increasing high cloud.

Nelson and the west of the South Island: Cloudy. Rain becoming
widespread this morning.

Wanganui to Wellington also for Marlborough, Canterbury
Otago, and Southland: Dry in most places today and milder
with high cloud. Brief rain may develop from Wanganui to
Wellington later.

Chatham Islands: A mix of cloudy and fine periods.
