Short Forecast valid to midnight tomorrow:
For the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Taranaki, Areas of rain easing to showers tomorrow morning from the west.
Bay of Plenty, the central high country then down to Wellington: Outbreaks of rain until tomorrow afternoon then a few showers. Heavy falls possible during the morning about Bay of Plenty.
Gisborne to Wairarapa: Rain from early tomorrow then a clearance south of Napier after dark.
Nelson and the South Island West coast: Rain at times with heavy falls overnight about northwest Nelson. Clearing south of the glaciers tomorrow evening.
For Marlborough, Canterbury, Otago, and Southland: Rain areas inland spreading elsewhere at times. Snow to the Canterbury foothills overnight to 500 metres. Fine periods increasing from tomorrow afternoon but low cloud and drizzle likely about southern Southland later.
Chatham Islands: A mix of cloudy and fine periods.
