Short Forecast valid to midnight tomorrow:

The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Showers and fine periods. Skies clearing from the south this evening. Tomorrow, mainly fine apart from a few cloudy periods from Northland to Coromandel Peninsula.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Long fine periods but a few showers also Likely. Becoming fine in Hawkes Bay tomorrow

Wairarapa and Wellington, also coastal Marlborough: Cloudy with showers. Fine spells increasing from the south this evening. Tomorrow, remaining showers clearing and becoming mainly fine.

Nelson, inland areas of Marlborough, also for the South Island west coast: Mostly fine weather.

Canterbury, Otago and inland Southland: Fine or becoming fine in most places this evening. Frosty inland tonight and fine again tomorrow.

Coastal Southland and Stewart Island: A few light showers this evening. Mainly fine tomorrow apart from a few cloudy periods.

Chatham Islands: Rain at times easing to showers tomorrow.
