Short Forecast valid to midnight tomorrow:

The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Mainly fine weather. A few cloudy areas about Wanganui and Manawatu today.

Gisborne to Wairarapa, also Wellington, A few light showers but with increasing fine spells this evening. Tomorrow, Mainly fine apart from cloudy periods about the Wairarapa coast.

Kaikoura Coast and Canterbury: Drizzly showers north of Banks Peninsula clearing tonight. Mainly fine elsewhere. Tomorrow mainly fine.

Nelson, inland Marlborough, also for the South Island west coast: Fine weather.

Otago and Southland: Mainly fine inland. Cloud and remaining showers clearing from the south coast and Stewart Island this evening. Fine and frosty tomorrow.

Chatham Islands: Showers for the remainder of today. Cloud and fine breaks tomorrow.
