For mainland New Zealand: Showers in eastern North Island areas retreating to coastal places today and becoming mainly fine overnight. From evening cloud building over southern Fiordland. Elsewhere fine frosty weather continuing.

Chatham Islands: Showers dying out but cloudy periods persisting today. Mainly fine tomorrow.
