From Northland to Taranaki, also for the central plateau: Long fine periods but a few light showers also, mainly in the west.
Wanganui and Manawatu: A few cloudy areas.
For Bay of Plenty and in the east from Gisborne to Canterbury also for Wellington and Nelson: Cloud and brief showers affecting coastal Canterbury and Marlborough this morning and further north later with a weak southwest change. Elsewhere, mainly fine.
South Island west coast: A few showers. Longer fine spells developing about Westland.
Otago and Southland: Cloudy periods. Showers about the
south coast spreading further north for a time this morning.
Southwesterlies
slowly easing.
Chatham Islands: Cold and showery with gale southwest winds.
