Consultation time extended
The consultation period for the Wellington Regional Strategy (WRS) has been extended until Monday 13 November.
The WRS is a sustainable economic growth strategy that has been developed over the last two years by the region’s local authorities in partnership with central government and the business, education, research and voluntary sectors.
The strategy was released for public consultation on September 29 and it was originally planned that public submissions would close on October 30th.
Chairman of the interim WRS committee, Ian Buchanan said a number of ratepayers wanted more time to consider the strategy and the extended deadline would accommodate these requests. “Our objective is to have the best strategy we can and if extending the deadline gives people more time to work on their submissions, we’re happy to accommodate their requests,” says Mr Buchanan.
