Fireworks Fantastic 2007-Saturday 27 October 2007
One of the Wellington Region's largest Fireworks display takes place next Saturday 27 October when Upper Hutt's busy outdoors season stars with this year's Fireworks Fantastic organised by Upper Hutt Rotary Club is at Trentham Memorial Park with gates opening from 5.30 pm . Club member and organiser Kevin Joyce says that a big team of volunteers have spent many hours planning this year's event with an emphasis on safety , family fun and a low cost night out at only $5.00 per person.Upper Hutt resident, Rotarian and well known pyrotechnics expert Peter Owles promises another great fireworks display.He produces other displays around NZ throughout the year.
Free car parking is available from the Moonshine Park entrance in Moonshine Road .
This year's event is an alcohol free family event .No alcohol will be sold at the event and not allowed into the park in the interests of safety.
Live entertainment starts around 6.30 pm with bands Nudge and Ava Diva performing through out the night until the fireworks display finale after dark.
The event would only happen with the support of NZ Community Trust , Rimutaka Trust , Youthtown and Hutt Mana Charitable Trust and many volunteers.
In the event of bad weather the event will be held on Sunday 28 October with details on the Breeze and More FM Radio stations.Enquiries can also be made to the Upper Hutt i-SITE Visitor Centre on 04 527 2141 daytime -7 days.
