The Orewa branch of the Westpac Bank has been robbed today.
Rodney police say a male entered the Bank which is located in Westpac Plaza in Orewa, at 10.00am today, Wednesday 9 September 2009.
The man presented a note to the female teller and he was given some cash. He then ran from the bank. No weapons were used. The bank officer is being counseled. Police have issued a description of the robber.
Male – Maori or Pacific Island Age – in his twenties Height – 170 – 180 cm – medium build Smooth skin with a dimple on the left side Clothing – wearing blue denim jeans, grey/light green colored hooded sweat shirt, sunglasses [black framed and lens] and a baseball cap.
Police have been searching the area after the robber was last seen walking up Tamariki Avenue towards the Nautilus Apartments and Centreway Road.
