Christchurch Casino Donates $250,000 in quake aid

Christchurch Casino Donates $250,000 to Help Christchurch and Canterbury Rebuild

Christchurch Casino has donated $250,000 to the Canterbury Earthquake Appeal to assist the region’s people and businesses rebuild.

Brett Anderson, Christchurch Casino’s Chief Executive Officer, says the company is pleased to be able to contribute to the appeal and help bring the community back on track.

“The community spirit throughout the earthquake’s impact has really shone through and I know that it will continue as we move forward – Christchurch Casino will play a major part in this - helping families, businesses and the wider community, together”, continues Anderson.

Brett says that Christchurch Casino’s employees and building has come through the event well and has reopened for business:

“Throughout our period of closure, our primary concern has been for staff and their families. On all accounts we are safe and well, and we will continue to provide support where ever we can”.

“Aside of minor superficial damage to the Casino building itself, we have come through strongly. Our structural report is clear and we have invested in a water purifier to ensure water safety across our services. We are back in operation and will be making some minor cosmetic repairs where needed”.

Christchurch Casino has resumed 24 hour operation of dining and entertainment. Promotion and event activity will take place as planned – updates can be found at www.christchurchcasino.co.nz.
