The Christchurch City reports that major roads are clearing of snow on the flat, and work is starting on Dyers Pass Road's lower section. However, care is still required on roads and motorist should watch out for surface water on cleared roads as the snow melts.
Crews are now beginning to spread grit over bridge approaches and overbridges. Road updates: Gebbies Pass Road - Teddington to Motukarara is now open to four wheel drive vechicles with chains only.
