Wellington airport now open after
earthquake
The size of the earthquake this
evening meant the Airport needed to undertake a full runway
and navigational aid inspection as part of standard
operating procedure.
The runway was inspected and cleared
for operation by 5.55pm with a number of aircraft being able
to operate shortly afterwards. All navigational aids were
inspected and cleared by 7.30pm. Some flights were cancelled
or delayed during this period.
