Wellington Zoo open as usual
All is well at Wellington Zoo after the weekend’s 6.5 earthquake: the animals and staff are safe, and there is no structural damage to the Zoo to report.
The Zoo was open on Monday as per usual.
“Our community can enjoy a relaxing stroll in the Zoo grounds, experience our new exhibits like Hero HQ and enjoy a warm break in Mojo café these school holidays,” said Karen Fifield, Chief Executive.
“We’re open and ready to welcome visitors. We’re very proud to have been recently named the ‘Best and Most Fascinating Zoo in the World’ and want to let our community know that all of our animals, from Meerkats to Malayan Sun Bears are all safe and sound.”
Wellington Zoo is open from 9.30am – 5.00pm every day. Visitors can call 04 381 6755 for any queries about visiting us.

everything we do at Wellington Zoo. We take every
opportunity to connect our visitors with nature and
encourage them to take their own positive action for the
environment.
