All motorway access now open but traffic delays
remain
The NZ Transport Agency says all
motorway access points are now open after some earlier
closures due to protestors.
However commuters should expect traffic delays and some diversions as they head home either into or out of the central city this evening, and allow plenty of time for their journey.
Protestors have intermittently blocked several roads and motorway exit and entry points through the day in what has been a fluid situation.
The Auckland Harbour Bridge has remained open throughout and traffic across the bridge has remained free flowing.
Police are managing traffic and the NZ Transport Agency has erected signs to help redirect traffic.
Drivers are also advised to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings as there are larger numbers of pedestrians on central city roads than usual. Many of them have been moving on and off the roads and walking in front of traffic. Some vehicles are also making sudden lane changes and u-turns to avoid delays.
