• Stay clear of waterways and paths alongside streams and rivers - they’re running higher than normal .

• Be aware that some stormwater manholes have lifted due to the high water levels.

. Parents should drive their children to and from school today.

• Please take care on the roads if you’re out and about.

• If you live in a flood-prone area please keep an eye on your property.

• If you have any concerns about localised flooding, please give us a call on 0800 486 486. We have sandbags available if you are concerned that water will soon enter your home.

• Note - our call centre team has been super busy on the phones this morning. Sorry if you’re having a hard time getting through but if it’s about a non-urgent query please try us later/tomorrow or send us an email atkapiti.coast@kapiticoast.govt.nz

• Wellington Free Ambulance tell us that currently 111 call numbers to them are about average and the service is well placed to respond to medical emergencies. If you have a medical emergency don’t hesitate to call 111 for help.
