regarding Cyclone Gita. Unless the situation changes, the
next update will be in the morning.
There are still no issues to report on in our region however Horizons Regional Council emergency management staff will be monitoring the situation overnight. In particular we will be keeping an eye on potential storm surges on the west coast, with high tide expected at 2am. Barrier crews will be on standby as a precaution for Foxton Beach.
