NZRU Make Prestigious Hospitality Appointment

MEDIA STATEMENT
FOR RELEASE 21 MARCH 2007

New Zealand owned and operated company, Premier Hospitality, has been awarded the exclusive corporate hospitality contract by the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) for the delivery of domestic hospitality for all All Blacks Tests held in New Zealand over the next 3 years (2007 – 2009).

The appointment follows a comprehensive and rigorous NZRU tender evaluation and selection process and is arguably the most prestigious hospitality appointment in sport in New Zealand.

Ian Fraser, Managing Director of Premier Hospitality said: “Everyone at Premier Hospitality is excited and delighted with the NZRU’s decision to award us this prestigious contract. We have an existing strong relationship with the NZRU having managed hospitality for the 2005 DHL New Zealand Lions Series and worked with the NZRU on various hospitality projects, both in New Zealand and offshore. This appointment reflects their certainty of our credentials and a collective desire to continue the successful partnership that already exists between both organisations.”

“The proposal we put forward to the NZRU was designed to demonstrate our operational and management competency as well as our ability to think laterally and creatively. We offered a wealth of experience gained both in the rugby hospitality markets and in the wider commercial arena, and were able to demonstrate extensive organisational capability and expertise.”

NZRU Deputy Chief Executive Steve Tew said: “Having worked through a rigorous tender process, the NZRU is delighted with Premier Hospitality’s appointment. Premier Hospitality was awarded the contract because they demonstrated, without doubt, that they could meet the service delivery standards of the NZRU. Additionally, they demonstrated a profound understanding of the significance of protecting and upholding New Zealand’s rugby reputation, both locally and internationally – and this was evident throughout their proposal.”
