Best Orange Juice Comes from Oldest Trees!

Not all juices are created equal and according to New Zealand’s original juice maker, surprisingly it’s the oldest trees that produce the sweetest juice!

In the early 1980s John Tollemache, founder and former owner of Arano, was the first to give New Zealanders a taste of freshly squeezed juice with fruit from his Gisborne orchard.

Tollemache who began his career in the juice business during the 1960s says the age of the orchard can make a real difference to the final orange juice product.

“The older trees have better juice due to having thinner skins and more juice and the juice from the more mature trees is typically a bit sweeter than fruit from younger trees,” he says.

Arano has continued the proud tradition started by the Tollemaches - by producing the first 100% Squeezed Limited Release Valencia Orange juice from the same orchard the Tollemache’s established all those years ago.

Available in 500ml from the original 1965 Block 1 at the Kemp Road Gisborne orchard this unique single orchard release of delicious Valencia orange will delight even the most discerning palate.

Each orange has been picked from fruit trees thought to be the oldest in the region so you are guaranteed a sweet tasting pure juice with no preservatives.

The product will be available next month from selected supermarkets, cafes, bars and restaurants. But you’ll need to be in quick as its only available for 12 weeks.

Arano’s General Manager Scott Wright says, the new 100% Squeezed Limited Release Valencia Orange juice reflects a growing demand among consumers to know exactly where their food and beverages are coming from.

“Our customers are looking more closely at the labels on their products and appreciate Arano’s proud local heritage and environmentally sustainable philosophy so we’re thrilled to be able to offer an even more authentic local juice that tastes amazing,” he says.

Arano’s 100% Limited Release Valencia Orange juice is free from additives, preservatives, and all the other artificial and processed ingredients you find in many other juices on the market.

The pulp is all natural and comes from the same orange as the juice, compared to the ingredients list of some chilled juice brands where pulp is added back into their blends to give the false illusion of a freshly squeezed drop.
