Ministerial Announcements Welcome News
Property Council welcomes the appointment of new Environment, Building and Housing Minister Dr Nick Smith.
Property Council applauds the Government’s decision to consolidate the portfolios within Cabinet as it will produce a single and stronger voice for the respective sectors.
Dr Smith’s experience and background in managing the Building and Housing portfolios will go hand in hand in informing his decisions and leadership on environmental issues.
Property Council has long advocated for the consideration of the built environment in decision making processes to ensure optimal outcomes.
Chief Executive Connal Townsend says the industry is looking forward to working with the Minister.
“We are excited at Dr Smith’s appointment and look forward to seeing his experience with Building and Housing informing his decisions regarding the environment.
“We are confident that with the inclusion of the private sector, the Government can achieve outcomes that the whole country will benefit from.”
