Anti-1080 documentary receives second international film festival nomination

The anti 1080 documentary - Poisoning Paradise - that continues to raise awareness and incite controversy around New Zealand, has just been nominated for its 2nd international film festival award.

The film has been reduced to 90 minutes and is 1 of 5 nominated for the Environment and Ecology section of The Heart of England Film Festival in the UK.

"Poisoning Paradise is our second film on the subject, and has helped raise awareness on important issues, and highlight the dangers of applying1080 aerially", said Clyde Graf.
Co-producer/director Steve Graf added "we are starting to see a shift in attitude, toward more responsible and targeted methods of pest control in New Zealand."

Last year, Poisoning Paradise received the NZ Skeptic Society's Bent Spoon award for "gullibility and a lack of critical thinking", and argue it is "advocacy journalism rather than a documentary".

The Graf Brothers say they are now filming a new documentary as a follow-up to Poisoning Paradise.

The Heart of England film festival runs in August.
