'Mihi Ki Te Rā' By Whāia and the Māhician

'Mihi Ki Te Rā' By Whāia and the Māhician

After persisting up that mountain Whāia and The Māhician are proud to present WHĀIA which represents a 15 year journey to finally reach the mountain top with the completion of their debut album of 10 original, wonderfully ecclectic, easy-listening waiata Māori.

The first single 'Mihi Ki Te Ra' is a beautiful opening track to the album.

With its superior sound WHĀIA is a vocally soothing, carefully crafted, catchy collection of songs which are mood uplifting and also serve as an educational tool for those who are in pursuit of Te Reo.

The Te Reo is poignant. Lois expression of her lyrics, melodies and vocal harmonies are beautifully interwoven into the musical foundations of Leyton’s rhythmical compositions and artistic arrangements. Added to this are some of Aotearoa’s finest in musicianship.

The themes throughout WHĀIA express mana atua, aroha, tūmanako and reo – Māori creation myths, love, hope and language.
