The Tertiary Education Commission has this morning (Wednesday 8 September) released a comparative report on the performance of New Zealand polytechnics. The report evaluates the success of students. “Whitireia scores highly, there has been consistent high success rates at Whitireia over many years. Our success is built on long term connections to industry and employers. The report underlines the exceptionally high quality teaching here and indicates that Whitireia is a large provider of qualifications from certificates to post-graduate level” says Chief Executive Don Campbell. “Whitireia successfully gets many students into real careers. At the other end of the qualification spectrum, Whitireia is also a national leader in post graduate health specialist courses.

Whitireia has recently completed an independent organization wide review, as an early mover into the national External Evaluation and Review framework that measures the quality of tertiary education providers in New Zealand. The report finds the effectiveness of teaching at Whitireia New Zealand is excellent. It finds that outcomes for learners and key stakeholders – industries and employers – are excellent. The report concludes that a rating of highly confident in the educational performance of Whitireia New Zealand be awarded. This is the highest possible score, in a report that will also be made public, by NZQA.
