Young, gifted and diverse: Awesome Aucklanders at the helm of Diversity Forum 2015
Young
Aucklanders from migrant, refugee and other backgrounds will
be participating, presenting and performing in this year’s
Diversity Forum to be held at AUT next Wednesday. Mixit is
a unique, creative project for young people from diverse
backgrounds who mix it up with drama, dance, social
commentary and korero.
“Auckland is one of the most ethnically diverse cities on the planet. Young Aucklanders from Mixit remind us that diversity is one of the many things that make Auckland not just unique: but also totally awesome,” said Race Relations Commissioner Dame Susan Devoy.
“Mixit are a group of incredibly talented, inspirational and totally awesome young Kiwis who challenge, entertain and communicate through their unforgettable performances.
Ahead of next week’s Diversity Forum 2015 – Hui Kanorau 2015, Mixit will be holding “Our Auckland” workshops as part of the Tales of Tāmaki celebrations at Auckland Museum.
