We need more houses, not Ministers
The Government’s decision to have three housing Ministers will create a dog’s breakfast of the portfolio and doesn’t bode well for fixing the country’s housing crisis, Labour’s Housing spokesperson Phil Twyford says.
“New Zealanders need more houses, not more Ministers.
“This is a humiliation for Nick Smith after his inept handling of the politically sensitive housing policy last term.
“His old job has been carved up and large parts of it handed to Bill English and Paula Bennett.
“National’s housing crisis has been caused by a system-wide policy failure. Fixing it requires a joined up approach, not further fragmentation,” Phil Twyford said.
