Kath McCabe ACT Candidate and spokesperson on
ETS
Friday 31 October 2008
For Immediate Release.
"The ETS is a disaster for New Zealand farmers and
businesses," said Kath McCabe, ACT Candidate for Mt
Albert.
Speaking to a meeting organized by Federated Farmers and Rural Women New Zealand in Blenheim, Kath McCabe said that the Emissions Trading Scheme, "delivers no environmental benefits but huge costs and more bureaucracy."
"It is a tragedy that Federated Farmers has chosen to support the ETS scheme and not the interests of their own members", said Kath McCabe.
"Why is it that Federated Farmers has not supported ACTs policy of scrapping the ETS.
"I think sensible farmers have a simple course of action".
"To vote for their local National party candidate in the electorate and Party Vote ACT so that when the government changes ACT will be there in numbers to scrap the ETS"
