“In A Democracy People Win And People Lose”
Kelvin Davis and Chris Hipkins on TVNZ Q+A
“In A Democracy People Win And People Lose” – Chris Hipkins Labour Senior Whip
I would say to all of the caucus and all of the members let's actually hear the arguments from the people who want to be leader, says Chris Hipkins on TVNZ’s Q+A programme.
But Te Tai Tokerau MP Kelvin Davis says the entire leadership debate is a distraction from putting the focus on people.
“There's a whole
heap of people in the middle just waiting to be inspired,
and we're not inspiring people whatsoever,” says Mr
Davis.
“If we look after our people, then the people
will look after us. And what we're doing at the moment is
talking about ourselves and that’s just turning people
off,” he says.
