Terrorist Attack on Californian synagogue
Terrorist Attack on Californian synagogue
We are
deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the synagogue
shooting in California, leaving one person dead and three
injured. Our prayers are with the injured and all those
affected.
This attack occurred while worshippers celebrated the end of Passover, a festival that celebrates the liberation and resilience of the Jewish people, six months to the day after the massacre at the Tree of Life synagogue. The gunman was apparently inspired by the Christchurch mosque atrocity.
As worshippers at mosques,
churches and synagogues are attacked around the world, we
declare enough is enough. It is a very troubling indictment
on the state of the world that people of faith cannot pray
in peace without fear for their lives. We hope people of all
faiths and of none will join together to fight and defeat
this scourge on
humanity
