Community Information Wanted In Manukau
Manukau City Council is currently updating its community information database, and may need your help.
The database lists information and contact details for hundreds of community groups in Manukau and has many uses, including helping people find groups that meet their needs, helping groups find new members, and helping groups find other groups with similar areas of interests.
“A database such as this can help people find organisations offering support, social, leisure and recreational opportunities in their community. But it can only really be effective when it contains up to date information,” says Project Manager Ayr Jones.
“While we are contacting the groups currently on the database, we need to hear from any new groups that have formed, or groups that have changed their contact details in the past year. Groups that have ceased to operate should also contact us and we will remove them from the database.”
The database is accessed on line from the libraries website www.manukau-libraries.govt.nz/catalogue.htm. It’s free to list on and to search. Anyone wishing to be included on the database should contact their community advisor or their local library.
