Aerial Operation On Today – Thursday 30th January
The current aerial operation to wipe out the painted apple moth will get under way soon after first light this morning (Thursday 30 January).
After several days of unsuitable weather conditions, the wind has settled and the 10,000 hectare operation will commence today.
Three aircraft - two fixed wing planes and a helicopter - will be used in today’s operation that may take more than one day to complete.
As the school-term has now started, aircraft will once again be out of the air refuelling between 8.00-9.00am, 12.15-1.00pm and 3.00-4.00pm – while children are travelling to and from school and eating their lunch.
