High winds forecast today and tomorrow are predicted to cause widespread extreme fire dangers. There is rain forecast for today and tomorrow however there is little indication of the amount. Areas that do not get significant rainfall over the next 24-48 hours are more likely to have extreme fire dangers.
The maps below are MetService predictions of likely extreme fire danger (the red areas) for this afternoon and tomorrow afternoon when they are likely to peak.
